Seeing two big brown eyes peeking out of the thickets at Dead Dog Beach is never easy. It’s a bittersweet moment, finding such a gentle, skinny little sato, knowing she’s about to get a second chance, while so many more sadly will not. With 650,000 stray dogs on the island of Puerto Rico, bringing one little dog like Ophelia into our program isn’t going to interrupt the overpopulation cycle.
