A 100 metre cordon and road closures are now in place around the building site where the ordnance was discovered. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts from 33 (EOD) Engineer Regiment, based in Wimbish, Essex, have spent the last two weeks searching for, safely collecting and disposing of unexploded ordnance on the ranges and training areas of Kirkcudbright. An Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) was found at a construction site yesterday evening. Our SAF Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from the 36th Battalion Singapore Combat Engineers (36 SCE), was activated and assessed the UXO to be a high explosive projectile. The UXO was transported offsite and safely disposed by our SAF EOD team this morning.
